Description

The Agilent BioTek Cytation 1 is a combined microplate reader and imager, providing both conventional multimode detection and digital microscopy. It performs filter-based fluorescence and monochromator-based UV-Vis absorbance readings across a wavelength range of 200 to 700 nm. The instrument also captures high-contrast brightfield and fluorescence images. Standard features include integrated temperature control and shaking, with options for gas control and reagent injectors. It reads 6- to 1536-well plates, with a measuring time of approximately 11 seconds for a 96-well plate. The system is operated by Gen5 software, which manages plate reading and image acquisition. Available software modules enable advanced image analysis and compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 regulations, supporting applications that require both well-based quantitative data and phenotypic cellular imaging.
