AFS® Water Purification Systems

Description

The AFS® Water Purification Systems from Merck KGaA produce high-purity water suitable for general laboratory and clinical reagent use. These systems employ a combination of purification technologies, including complete pretreatment, intelligent reverse osmosis (RO), exposure to a bactericidal ultraviolet lamp, and final filtration through a 0.22 µm membrane. This integrated process yields water with a consistent quality that complies with the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guideline for Clinical Laboratory Reagent Water (CLRW). Typical water parameters include a resistivity exceeding 15 MΩ·cm at 25°C and a total organic carbon (TOC) content usually below 30 parts per billion. Three models are available to match varying daily consumption needs: the AFS® 8 (8 L/h, catalog ZAFS0080WW), AFS® 16 (16 L/h, catalog ZAFS0160WW), and AFS® 24 (24 L/h, catalog ZAFS0240WW). All units share a compact footprint of 268 mm in width and 426 mm in depth, with a height of 585 mm.
