Description
The AEROTRAC II analyzer from Verder Scientific measures the size distribution and concentration of airborne particles and droplets. It utilizes laser diffraction, analyzing scattered light with a 32-element ring detector that features automatic optical axis adjustment. The instrument is suited for analyzing sprays, mists, atomized droplets, and powders in applications involving pigments, lotions, and similar materials. Three interchangeable lenses provide different measurement ranges: the F100 lens covers 0.5 to 350 µm, the F300 lens measures 1.4 to 1000 µm, and the F600 lens handles 2.8 to 2000 µm. Measurement intervals are highly flexible, from 0.02 milliseconds for rapid spray analysis to 600 seconds for continuous monitoring. Operation modes include manual start, auto-start triggered by detected particles, and external signal initiation. The system includes software for multiple scattering correction and is built around a semiconductor laser, requiring a relatively compact setup area.
