Adeno-associated Virus-Like Particles (AAV VLPs)

Description

Adeno-associated virus-like particles are non-infectious nanostructures that mimic the native capsid architecture of adeno-associated viruses. These VLPs are recombinantly produced in an insect cell expression system and are composed of the structural proteins VP1, VP2, and VP3. Crucially, they lack any viral genetic material, rendering them replication-incompetent and enhancing safety during handling and production. Their authentic three-dimensional surface conformation allows them to induce potent immune responses. Consequently, AAV VLPs serve as valuable tools in diagnostic assay development for detecting AAV antibodies and as platforms for vaccine research and immunogen design.
