Description

The AccuTOF DART 4G is a time-of-flight mass spectrometer from JEOL USA that integrates a Direct Analysis in Real Time (DART) ion source. This configuration enables rapid, ambient ionization mass spectrometry with minimal sample preparation. Samples in their native state—such as solids, powders, liquids, or surfaces—can be analyzed by simply placing them between the DART source and the spectrometer inlet. The DART source ionizes a wide array of materials, including chemical reaction mixtures, polymers, pharmaceutical tablets, and contaminants. The AccuTOF mass spectrometer provides high-resolution, accurate mass data with a mass range extending to m/z 6000 and a high data acquisition rate of 50 Hz. The 4G system is designed as an integrated platform, requiring no additional interface hardware, which facilitates stable and reproducible operation. It functions as an ambient ionization toolbox, supporting not only various DART operational modes but also other complementary ionization techniques without needing to remove the DART source, making it a versatile tool for fields like food safety, forensics, and materials science.
