5500 Series Compact FTIR
Manufacturer: Agilent Technologies
SKU: Inquire
Description
The Agilent 5500 Series is a compact Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer designed for routine analysis near the production line or in the laboratory. It operates in the mid-infrared range from 4,000 to 650 cm⁻¹ with a resolution adjustable from 2 to 16 cm⁻¹. The system uses a low-powered solid-state laser as part of its optical system. A key feature is its variety of sampling interfaces designed for ease of use. These include the DialPath analyzer, which provides adjustable transmission pathlengths for liquids in a format as simple as ATR, and the 550t analyzer for liquid analysis via a sandwiched droplet method. The instrument also supports single-reflection diamond ATR for solid and liquid identification, as well as multi-reflection ZnSe ATR for liquid analysis. It is controlled by intuitive, method-driven software that guides users through operation and includes color-coded alerts for pass/fail sample checks. The software suite includes MicroLab Quant for quantitative method development and an optional MicroLab Pharma package to support regulatory compliance and data integrity. The compact design makes it suitable for environments where bench space is limited.
