This product is a rigid polycarbonate frame designed to hold removable 8-well PCR tube strips, creating a versatile 96-well format plate. The system allows users to insert individual strips into the frame to form a complete plate, a partial plate, or easily handled single strips. A key feature is the reusability of the frame; only the polypropylene tube strips need to be replaced for subsequent experiments. The tube strips feature thin-walled, uniform wells with a low-profile design, offering a 0.1 ml working volume and a 0.2 ml total capacity. Raised well rims help minimize cross-contamination and support effective sealing. The rigid polycarbonate construction of the frame reduces thermal expansion and sample evaporation during thermal cycling, contributing to more consistent PCR and qPCR results. The plates are free from common contaminants like DNase, RNase, and endotoxins. Tube strips are available with either clear or white wells, the latter providing enhanced sensitivity for fluorescent detection in quantitative PCR. The frames are offered separately or pre-loaded with strips, and a Roche LightCycler 480-compatible style is also an option. Alphanumeric labeling aids sample tracking, and the design is compatible with standard multichannel pipettes.
