Description

This system consists of a reusable, semi-skirted polycarbonate frame designed to hold removable 8-well PCR tube strips, specifically formatted for use with the Roche LightCycler 480 instrument. The frame provides structural rigidity, reducing thermal expansion and evaporation during thermal cycling to improve result consistency. Users insert individual 0.1ml working volume polypropylene tube strips into the frame to create a full 96-well plate, a partial plate, or manageable strip segments. The thin-walled, low-profile tube strips are optimized for PCR and qPCR performance and are certified free of common contaminants. Raised well rims on the strips help prevent cross-contamination and aid in effective sealing. The tube strips are available with either clear wells or white wells, the latter offering enhanced sensitivity for fluorescent qPCR detection. The frames can be purchased alone or pre-loaded with tube strips. An alphanumeric grid is present for sample identification. The system is compatible with standard multichannel pipettes. Barcoding is an available option for sample tracking.
