491Flex™ System

Description

The 491Flex™ System from KIN-TEK Analytical is a manually operated, modular generator for creating precise calibration gas standards. It is engineered to produce trace-level gas mixtures, including concentrations in the parts-per-million (ppm), parts-per-billion (ppb), and parts-per-trillion (pptr) ranges. The system's core function relies on KIN-TEK's Trace Source™ permeation devices, which are available in disposable, refillable, and diffusion tube formats for a library of over 550 different chemicals. System configuration is flexible, as it can be composed of one or more oven modules to meet specific application demands. Each oven can accommodate up to eight disposable permeation tubes, each with a maximum size of 6 inches in length and 1/4 inch in diameter, or a single refillable tube model. The flow path is constructed from inert materials—primarily glass, Teflon®, and stainless steel—to ensure compatibility with reactive gases, with optional material coatings like sulfinert available. Operators control the system via a front panel that provides direct readouts for oven temperature and mass flow rate, with operational modes including standby, zero, and span. The unit supports a flow rate range from 0.25 to 5.0 standard liters per minute and has physical dimensions of 7 x 20 x 13.5 inches (18 x 51 x 34 cm).
