Description

The 491Flex Base Module serves as the foundational component of a modular permeation system for creating precise calibration gas standards. This manually operated unit can function as a standalone device or be expanded with additional modules. It works by housing a Trace Source permeation or diffusion tube within a temperature-controlled oven. A flow of inert dilution gas, such as nitrogen or zero air, passes over the tube, carrying the emitted analyte vapor. The system precisely dilutes this vapor stream to generate a known concentration of the target gas. This process is critical for calibrating analytical instruments like gas chromatographs or ambient air monitors, providing traceable and accurate reference mixtures essential for quality assurance and regulatory compliance in environmental and industrial testing.
