ProColl is a synthetic biology company based in South Wales that manufactures recombinant collagen and other high-value proteins at scale. The founders had struggled to find commercially available collagen that gave consistent results in their research and decided to fix the problem. Once solved, the technology was spun out of Swansea University’s College of Engineering to exploit the IP and build a business around it, resulting in ProColl being established in 2018. We are backed by Swansea University, The Development Bank of Wales and Meltwind Advisory.
