Polymer Laboratories, now a part of Varian, Inc., was founded in 1976 from the Polymer Research Group at Loughborough University by founder members Dr Terry Croucher, Dr Frank Warner and Professor Ray Whetton. At its inception, the Company's objectives were 'to develop techniques and instrumentation for the characterization of polymer systems, and to develop high technology polymer products for application in the fields of chromatography, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals'. Over 30 years in business, PL Varian continues to pursue these goals, with a consistent desire to develop these technologies.
