Lab3 was formed in June 2000 from the merger of Abinghurst Ltd. and SW Scientific Ltd and the acquisition of the laboratory supplies business of Labpak Ltd, hence the name. We operate from two sites, Bristol and Northampton, and employ around 50 people. Our Bristol office houses the service and calibration part of our business, and a warehouse serving the South West of England and South Wales. Northampton is the location for the sales, purchasing and accounts functions, for our manufacturing facility and warehousing for the Midlands, Southern England, East Anglia and other areas. Our Company can trace its origins back to 1978 when Abinghurst Ltd. was formed in Northampton by John Taylor, originally selling laboratory furniture, it quickly became obvious there was a demand in the local area for a supplier who could offer single-sourcing for laboratories, a concept that is well known today.
